The Kmetzo's!
EVK Consulting
Your Family's Personal Coach and Navigator
Hi! I am Lizzy Kmetzo, mom to my two wonderful boys, Charlie (5) and Connor (2). In my previous life before children, I was a high-energy Kindergarten teacher at local private schools, wearing many professional hats from Director of After School Programming to School Service Learning and Outreach Coordinator to Special Educator to STEAM Consultant to Admissions Committee.
Three years ago, my older son, Charlie was diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum, and navigating his care has been a deeply rewarding (though at times challenging) full-time job. With both boys now in school, I am able to channel my professional background into meaningful work. I’ve expanded my efforts to work more closely with families and founded EVK Consulting, an Educational Consulting Concierge service- providing tutoring, admissions and school consulting, and offering guidance to fellow special needs parents—an area I’m incredibly passionate about.
The mission behind EVK Consulting is to offer highly personalized support to families, guiding them through the school selection and admissions process. Additionally, I provide developmentally appropriate, play-based preparation for children. My services range from helping families choose the right school, to offering ongoing academic tutoring, to building essential social-emotional skills. The “concierge” aspect is designed to ease the burden on families by offering comprehensive support—everything from reviewing applications and school selection to providing tailored tutoring sessions focused on literacy, math, and critical thinking.
For families navigating the world of special needs, I offer specialized guidance in areas such as early intervention, therapies, diagnoses, evaluations, school selection, school district placement, insurance, care coordination, and IEP support. I know firsthand how isolating and overwhelming it can feel to be on this journey. When Charlie was first diagnosed, I often felt like I was flying blind, unsure of where to turn for the best care and support. My goal is to provide parents with the roadmap and navigation I wish I had, helping children—like my little Charlie—grow and thrive.
Lastly, I am also equipped to provide academic support for both neurodivergent and neurotypical children. My approach focuses on each child’s unique strengths, learning style, sensory profile, and areas that may require extra attention or reinforcement. I also enjoy using my time one-on-one with students for enrichment opportunities; to dive into passions such as STEAM problem solving challenges, complex critical thinking activities, or interest groups.
In my free time I enjoy being out in nature with my family, going to the beach, takeout pizza on Friday nights, and spending time up in Rhode Island. If your family or someone in your circle could benefit from some educational support, please do not hesitate to reach out. I would love to connect with you.
I want to take a moment to personally express how deeply grateful I am for your support. Your guidance and encouragement for our family in its entirety has been invaluable. We are endlessly fortunate to have crossed paths with you.J.G.
Lizzy is incredibly kind, understanding and compassionate. She helped us navigate a cross country move and all of the logistics involved with finding the right school district to meet the needs of my children. She has a unique background and set of skills in that she can assess a project or concern through both a “special needs” lens and a “mom” lens. She is responsive and thorough. She didn’t feel like a consultant but more like a friend. I highly recommend her!Anonymous
You truly show how deeply you care about helping us find the best educational path. It’s uncommon to meet someone so thoughtful and committed. You always seem to know what we need, when we need it, and your encouragement arrives at exactly the right moments. We’re already seeing such wonderful growth in our child, and I genuinely hope we can continue working together long after the application process is behind us.D.T.
